Secure Your Wi-Fi Network

Update your router And upgrade to third party Firmware As possible. It will decrease the chances of being Hacked.

Change Your Router Password

Every Router ships with a default login/password combination. The combination can varies from Model to Model. And it can be easy to guess. So you should change the password to A strong one that is Hard to Guess.

Upgrade Your Network Encryption

Never choose the WEP encryption though it is the lowest encryption on the WiFi encryption system. Go and choose other Encryption Options.

✓  Changing/Hiding Your SSID

Your router shipped with a default SSID. The SSID are something like "wireless".  You can set to default  if you don't care about  high-security.  There are lots of options in SSID you can choose Any As your preference.

Filter Network Access by MAC Address

MAC Address filtering allows you to define a list of devices and only allow those devices on your Wi-Fi network. That's the theory, anyway. In practice, this protection is tedious to set up and easy to breach.
